Budapest Airport arrivals: how to meet your transfer driver

At Budapest Airport (BUD), your transfer meeting point depends on the arrangements for your journey. For Economy, call your driver after landing and say which zone you are at. For Business, you can request a driver waiting inside the arrivals hall with a name board. Use the instructions sent for your own trip rather than a meeting point remembered from an earlier visit.

Check your flight and terminal information

Budapest Airport's passenger information refers to Terminal 2A and Terminal 2B. Check your airline and the airport flight displays for the correct check-in area, gate and arrival information. A general terminal map helps you orient yourself; it does not identify your Pethő Travel pickup point.

Economy: call after landing and give your zone number

We send the final meeting instructions by email and SMS. Check the email account and phone number used for your booking. After landing, call the driver using the contact details you received, say that you have arrived and give the number of the zone where you are waiting.

If you cannot find the zone, tell the driver during the call. Describe what you can see and read out the nearest sign. Check before moving to another pickup location so that you and the driver are talking about the same place.

Business: request a name-board reception in advance

For a Business transfer at Budapest Airport, you can ask for the driver to meet you inside the terminal arrivals hall with a name board. Request this when arranging the trip and confirm the details with the office. It is an option to arrange, not an automatic reception at every airport.

If the email, SMS or driver contact is missing

Check your inbox, spam folder and SMS messages. If one set of instructions is available, start with that. If neither is available, ask for help through the contact agreed for your journey. Sending information by both channels does not guarantee that every message reaches your device.

Give us a phone number that you can use after arrival, including the country code for an international number. Use an email account you can open while travelling. Let the office know if either contact changes. If you no longer have the agreed contact details, our contact page lists the office's contact options and opening hours.

Luggage delays and the waiting period

Tell the driver if baggage collection or another arrival formality delays your meeting. Economy and EcoNight have a 90-minute airport pickup period from the actual landing time. Business has an initial 30-minute grace period followed by a further 90 minutes of free waiting; after that, each started half-hour costs HUF 2,500. The accepted offer and the terms agreed for your booking govern the arrangement.

For every category, the transfer luggage allowance is one large suitcase and one item of hand luggage per person. Agree any extra luggage, pushchair or sports equipment with the office in advance. Your airline's luggage limits are separate from the transfer allowance.

Compare the fare for your own group

Prices checked on 5 November 2026: BUD Economy one-way base fares are HUF 29,990 for one passenger, HUF 44,990 for two, HUF 53,990 for three and HUF 67,990 for four. These are the total base fares for the booking party, not prices to multiply by the number of passengers. Address-based pickup, airport entry and extras may be added.

Private Business one-way base fares are HUF 76,200 for a group of 1–3 and HUF 109,990 for a group of 4–8. For Budapest, the calculator applies EcoNight pricing to Economy flights from 22:00 until before 09:00. The BUD Economy/EcoNight return discount depends on the details of both directions; Business has no automatic return discount.

Planning a departure or an onward journey

Arrange the transfer using the exact address, flight, date and passenger count. For a departure, follow your airline's required airport arrival time and allow separately for check-in, baggage drop, security and reaching the gate. A road journey estimate does not include all of those steps and is not an arrival guarantee.

If you compare driving, parking or public transport with a transfer, use the same travel dates and the full return journey. Include parking, road costs, changes of service, luggage handling and getting to the final address. Check current timetables for the day rather than relying on an old connection.

The online form requests a quote. A technical receipt message is not confirmation of a ride; the contract is formed by accepting the valid offer. Your offer sets out the payment method and deadline. Submitting the form does not charge a payment card online.
